ICATEEE2026 - International Conference on Advanced Technology in Electronic and Electrical Engineering
Sana Ibrahim is an electrical engineer and renewable-energy professional with more than eight years of experience across solar photovoltaic systems, electrical engineering, technical services, and energy-market development. She holds a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the National Engineering School of Monastir, where she graduated with honors in electrotechnics engineering.
Her experience spans PV system design and feasibility studies, inverter technical support and commissioning, commercial and industrial solar applications, utility-scale PV projects, and hybrid PV-plus-battery energy storage systems (BESS). She has worked across North Africa, the Middle East, and other international markets, combining hands-on engineering knowledge with technical coordination and market-development experience.
Sana is currently leading technical engineering activities at Siraj Solar, a solar engineering and consulting company focused on PV and energy-storage studies. Her work includes system sizing and optimization, energy-yield simulations, electrical layouts and single-line diagrams, cable sizing, protection and earthing studies, and engineering documentation for projects ranging from commercial and industrial installations to utility-scale and hybrid PV+BESS systems.
Alongside project work, she contributes to technical capacity building by delivering practical training for engineers and energy professionals. Her professional focus is on translating engineering analysis into reliable, buildable solar solutions and supporting the wider adoption of renewable energy across Africa and emerging markets.
The transition to renewable energy is no longer a distant goal — it is an engineering reality that is reshaping power systems across Africa and emerging markets. This keynote explores the technical and practical dimensions of designing reliable solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS), from feasibility studies and system sizing to electrical layouts, protection studies, and commissioning.
Drawing on more than eight years of hands-on experience across North Africa, the Middle East, and international markets, the presentation will highlight the key engineering challenges and opportunities in deploying PV+BESS solutions at commercial, industrial, and utility scales. Topics will include energy-yield simulation, hybrid system optimization, grid integration, and the role of technical capacity building in accelerating the adoption of renewable energy.
The talk will conclude with practical recommendations for engineers, researchers, and policymakers on how to translate engineering analysis into buildable, bankable, and sustainable solar solutions that support the energy transition in Africa and beyond.
